What Thoughts Hide Behind Those Eyes?
What thoughts Hide behind those eyes? By CpSingleton (c) 2015
Is it a wish to watch the hummingbird?
Its wings, delicate yet furiously flapping,
Causing gravity to turn away in awe.
Or do they follow tracks set by wiser folk?
Footprints left by lighter feet for faerie minds
To see their way when darkness shrouds.
Or do they see a different world to the many?
Beneath the scars left by greed and war.
They see vibrancy and beauty with which to replace.
Do they note the screeching of the feral cat and
See beyond to the owl call as she soars,
Giving life to the unseen below the stars that shine?
Or do those eyes see summertime in winter?
The warm scent of herb and glorious bloom
Thrilling and evoking like berry stains on cloth.
Whatever they see others can learn from.
They have caring hands in which to hold and direct
Through minefields left by fools and trumps.
