Don’t ask me how my mind works, I was writing away and Jonny Cash (a boy called Sue) popped into my head and then the following poem.
Lying in the summer grass,
The corn ears tickling at my pass,
For the bus to take me to my big blue door.
When a thought of you popped in my head,
Turning me warm and rather red.
It made me glad I was lying on the floor.
Because if people would-a-seen they sure would tell
Of a big ole grin that made my head throb and swell.
Embarrassment and emotions can be quite a mix!
Then it was that matters got worse.
It was a part of my rotten family curse,
That one fine day we’re gonna have to fix.
I was so wrapped up in my boiling emotion
