Draco’s Wing. By CpSingleton. © 2014
Above my shackled body
Draco roars for freedom’s joy
A wonder that has electrified me
Since the man was but a boy.
To reach my skinny arms aloft and
Feel the shake of stars!
Their diamond smiles within my grasp:
The envy of kings and czars!
To swim within the beauty and
Drown in warm delight.
To spin around a galaxy and
Be back before it’s light.
To tell tales of furthest planets,
With creatures near are own,
The dreams are still my night thoughts,
Despite how much I’ve grown.
I fear for many changes
That life and death do bring, but
Never will I let go of
The dreams on Draco’s wing
