One Day This Year. By CpSingleton © 2016
Come from the sunlight;
That hot, orange medicine ball,
That showers giggles into kids and
Strips away cloth to narrow teenagers second minds.
Take off your fur lined parkas.
Throw them to the back of the cupboard
With the scarves and gloves.
The skin needs its breath.
The mosquitos need there blood.
Though I don’t suppose you care,
Not with the vodka and antihistamines
Bumping into one another down your throat.
Enjoy the day.
It’ll be cold again tomorrow.
