Stop to bathe in the light. By CpSingleton © 2016
When the hurricane of life blasts all around you;
The scream of its violence married to dark anxieties,
Await the emergence of the eye,
Look up to azure skies and
Stop to bathe in the light that floods the senses.
Don’t let the view pass to other’s eyes because you’re
Too busy thinking about the next imminent storm,
Like a general who plans for peace by preparing for war.
It’s been given to you for a reason.
Stop to bathe in the light.
It may be as brief as a sigh or
As dramatic as a fork of lightning bouncing off the back of your mind.
It could just be a shard of the sun’s rays
Slicing between the branch of an autumnal tree.
It might well be warm summer through stain-glassed windows reflecting on a baby’s chubby cheek.
Wherever you find it
Revel in that swift moment as
You stop to bathe in the light.
