I went out for the first time in a week to get some shopping. It looked bright as I got myself dressed, but when I went out it was grey and damp. Still no snow. To be honest, love, I’m glad it hadn’t.
Do you remember that time we got snowed in and decided to take the kids for a walk in it to get some paraffin from Walker’s shop? It was so thick and oddly quiet, remember? Then our Kevin, who couldn’t have been more than six at the time, disappeared into that drift. We did laugh after we’d pulled him out by his ears.
They were good times, weren’t they, love?
I did a stupid thing today, when I went shopping, Mol. I bought all your favourites, like I did before you left. I didn’t realise until I got home and unpacked the bags. I just sat there for hours looking at those funny chocolates only you like. You know, those that the ambassador likes.
How stupid am I, love?
I suppose I could give them to June when she visits tomorrow, couldn’t I?
I hope you are happy up there, Mol.
Love and miss you,
