I remember waking up on the morning and deciding that I needed to be more positive, so told myself, mantra-like, that I would be just that.
I arrived with a smile and told the group that we should be very grateful to the hard work Becky puts in, especially after seeing how many pies her fingers were in at the mind health day seminar. I then asked the group what they thought about weekly sessions and they all agreed. We chatted to the manager of The Shop and they offered us Tuesday one week and Thursday the next.
I then talked about the upcoming project: Perceptions.
I wanted to start it by taking mug shots of each member and then another member writing how they saw that person. Also, to give it a 3D feel, we would then, in the next session create masks depicting how we saw ourselves.
Obviously we all read our homeworks out. The word was Manufactured. My piece was called The Manufactured Smile. A quiet guy called Michael wrote the most amazing piece. Definitely star baker for that week and one to watch.
The word for the next homework was a strange one: ahem.
Just the sort I like!
So, all in all, a good session and only a few days until the next.
